Yes, you can! We permit manual bikes as well as E-bikes, for those over the age of 14 and who meet our EAPC requirements (details can be found below).
Make sure you don’t lock your bike to the Grandstand or we’ll remove it for safety reasons.
Also, stay safe – all the roadways will be in use. You can’t ride through the paddocks, and if you leave your bike anywhere, it is at your own risk.
Please also ensure that you ride safely, wear a helmet, and think about your fellow fans' safety when riding around the venue.
EAPC Requirements
Electric bikes are known as ‘electrically assisted pedal cycles’ (EAPCs). You can ride an electric bike if you are 14 years old or over and meet certain requirements.
An EAPC must have pedals that can be used to propel it.
It must show either:
- the power output.
- the manufacturer of the motor
It must also show either:
- the battery’s voltage
- the maximum speed of the bike
Its electric motor:
- must have a maximum power output of 250 watts.
- should not be able to propel the bike when it’s travelling more than 15.5mph
An EAPC can have more than 2 wheels (for example, a tricycle).
If a bike meets the EAPC requirements, it’s classed as a normal pedal bike. This means you can ride it on roadways and cycle paths.
If a bike does not meet the EAPC requirements, it is not permitted for use onsite.
Bikes and EAPC e-bikes will only be permitted for use on the Silverstone internal roads as per the Road Traffic Act. Pathways and designated pedestrian areas will not be permitted.
